The photo here shows a reasonably common condition affecting horses ( predominantly horses from their mid teens and upwards ) The condition is called Equine Odontoclastic Tooth Resorption and Hypercementosis or EOTRH for short. This disease involves two competing processes, production of extra dental tissues and the destruction of other dental tissues. Your Equine Dental Vet can identify this painful debilitating condition and remove pain from your horses mouth. You can learn more by heading to www.EDV.tv

Just wanted to give EDV a big compliment on their digital dental charts. I can now supply horse owners with a detailed patient record including photos of the mouth. This system also provides a perfect way to keep accurate veterinary records. Created at the time of visit, filed instantly and can be accessed in the field at next visit. Just in case you have cold feet about changing your record keeping, EDV has given me great support every time I hit a speed bump with these charts.
In the May edition of Horses and People you'll find an EDV article.
